Walk Through Time
Time; one of the most intriguing mysteries that physics has encountered during its development. It's one of the most fascinating features is that it is different for each observer (as explained by the Theory of Relativity). Now this brings the possibility of a very popular concept of time travel in future. But travelling back to the past is too much to handle. As far as the modern physics has reached, which is an exponentially large amount as compared to a couple of centuries ago, time travel is nothing but an idea that came to someone's mind, which was not of much use, but science fiction adapted it, making it one of the most successful plots for any Sci-Fi movie. Now the reason for success was very simple. All the people have one thing common which they constantly carry with them; regrets. So the idea of going back in past, correcting a mistake that brought huge changes in their lives; this is something that almost all of us could connect to. Even when the probability of developing a time machine is almost equal to a person catching a big falling meteorite with bare hands and surviving, they still entertain the possibility, which on one hand is hysterical and psychological setback, while on the other hand is what made the science progress. Because defying the common notions and building theories that contradict the existing ones are the reasons due to which the rate of scientific development in the last three centuries is way ahead as compared to the time before it.The broken bell will be seen again, the world shall hear its chime.Possibilities define the infinities, shall one travel in time.
So one fine evening when I was sitting under the sky, I started giving a thought about time travel too. That is when something struck my mind. I thought about the events in the history that I would like to alter, in case I ever get a time machine. I thought about a lot of mistakes that I did and wanted to repair, then I got to think about much bigger historical events that I could alter, like the Holocausts, but then I realized that all of the things that I want to change is based on my moral code. So when someone actually does invent a time machine, how can we be sure that his moral code is what is best for the world history? Now we can say that if it is invented, it is most likely that the solution to The Butterfly Effect (When an event in history is altered, the results in the current time can not be precisely determined due to presence of a lot of variables; the more the event back in time, the more is the extent of butterfly effect.) must have been found and the government would keep it in check. But then another question arises: Why would a person that is so intellectually evolved and resourceful to actually create a time machine, ever reveal that it is finally invented? Like any normal human, he would probably want to use it for his own selfish purposes in accordance with his moral code. And that would make our history vulnerable to distortion, thus making it an existential level threat.
So as far as time travel goes, it is for the better that it is not allowed by modern physics laws. Because if it is ever discovered by some future theory abandoning the current laws, it may cause more harm than good.
